If I had more books like Nicholas Sparks, I would probably read more.” Nicholas Sparks writes romantic fiction, and there could be plenty of overlap in historical fiction and romantic fiction. There are many historical fiction books for young adults that would have a romance element in it that would appeal to Rachael.
